Cádiz – Sevilla
But first:
A ferry ride is fun…
How did we fare on the almost 1,200 km on the high seas?
Surprisingly well!
The sea was very very calm and the approximately 36 hours passed again quite quickly.
…waiting for the ferry. Then it arrived 🙂
The open vehicle deck – but with three more levels below it. Somewhere hidden here stood our bus.
Christian enjoyed himself on the sun deck.
Hardly had you opened your eyes and the harbour and the impressive bridge of Cádiz were already visible.
That same day we drove just under 120 km from Cádiz to the fourth largest city in Spain, Sevilla.
Arrived!

Sevilla
¡Qué bonito!
How beautiful!
In Sevilla we were lucky with the weather. 30 degrees and almost completely without wind.
The second day was considerably cloudier (last photo) but still a pleasant 28 degrees.
…warmer than in the Canary Islands! 🙂
The city was breathtaking. There are no other words for it. We have already visited quite a few cities.
But Sevilla...¡Qué bonito!
We can only highly recommend it.
May we introduce? The bishop's front garden (photo four) or the "open bookcase" (second to last photo) were impressive.
And – without knowing it – the Feria de Abril/Feria de Sevilla was taking place.`
In other words: Flamenco everywhere!
Countless horse-drawn carriages and lovingly decorated festival tents round off the huge festival.
Care for some numbers?
- Daily attendance: Around 500,000 visitors
- Peak times: Especially on Friday evenings the grounds are extremely packed with over 850,000 visitors
- Capacity: The over 1,253 festival tents (Casetas) offer space for over 1.2 million people
- Total visitors: Approx. 5 million during the festival week
Yes, you read that right. 5 million people!
And to finish off Sevilla we took care of the local wildlife – right on our doorstep, with food and drink. 🙂

Sevilla – Villarrobledo – Valéncia
On the road to Valéncia. The third largest city in Spain!
The just over 600 km we did not drive in one day. With one night in the lovely Villarrobledo we continued on the following day.
The odd lunch break was also spent near a reservoir.
Valéncia
Just outside the city we found a quiet spot.
We were out and about a lot on foot – mostly around/over 30,000 steps a day.
Valéncia too was impressively beautiful.
However – in direct comparison to Sevilla – something about that "certain something" was missing for me…
Don't ask me what – perhaps it was also the worse weather. 🙂
Finally a few – if not quite a few – photos of the city of València.
After the fourth largest city, the third largest, now comes – well? Who can guess? That's right, the second largest city in Spain.
One must keep to the order after all! 🙂
The coming days we're heading – once again – to Barcelona.
We had never been there with the bus.
However previously already the "odd time or two" (understatement :)) in one of Christian's favourite cities.
On the way there we stopped near the Ebro Delta and had wonderful views of the water.
…and lastly:
On the way to Barcelona we also visited the charming Sitges and its wonderful old town.
Christian's last visit here was on a family holiday about 30 years ago and he could only remember the local train station.
Well, something at least. 🙂
We passed by the amusement park Port Aventura.
At the sight of the roller coasters my heart leapt.
We had already been here a few years ago and this time around a visit was exceptionally left out.
Sending lots of love out through the roof window. 🙂
See you soon!
